Berlin Community
Food Closet
Open from 9A-11A the first and third Saturday of each month, the United Methodist Food Closet joyfully serves our communities' needs. The mission of The Berlin Community Food Closet is to provide emergency food to families in the Berlin and Petersburg communities. In the summer, The Berlin Community Food Closet operates an 8-week Summer lunch supply program for youth in the Berlin school district. Volunteers at the Berlin Food Closet come from across the community and new volunteers are always welcome.

If you are interested in volunteering or in need of food assistance, please contact Berlin Community Food Closet Coordinator Dianne Mosher at 518-658-2942.

Pathway of Peace
New Help Available for Families & Friends of Those Addicted to Narcotics
Pathway of Peace, A NarAnon Family Group, is a new local resource for those affected by someone else’s addiction to narcotics. The NarAnon Family Groups are a world-wide fellowship offering help by sharing the experiences, strengths, and hope of those who come together in ongoing weekly meetings.
The meetings will be held every Sunday evening at 6pm at 17 South Main Street, Berlin, NY 12022 (United Methodist Church at Berlin) for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the illness of addiction of someone close to them. The gathering is not religious but rather a 12-step spiritual way of life and fellowship. There are no dues or fees, just come.
In September of 2024 Rensselaer County received a federal designation as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. With the spikes in addiction so widespread the disease touches not only those afflicted, but also greatly impacts their loved ones. For more information write to PathwayofPeaceNFG@gmail.com or stop by any Sunday at 6:00pm at the church hall. All are welcome.

This small group experience will help you to explore living with grief, coping, and continuing on your life’s journey. Call 518-795-0509 to get more information about the upcoming group,
